Our First Posting

25 June 2011

Hi Everyone,

Well, we are finally up and running, and this posting gives you all the information and details about our first ever shop hop.

Firstly, who are ‘we’, well there is Quiltworks in Waipukurau, Crafty Pear in Pahiatua, Village Books and Crafts in Palmerston North, Cherry Pie in Levin, Quilters Lane in Masterton and Sawmillers Quiltery at Te Marua, Upper Hutt.

There will be a flyer available at all of these shops with the registration form and you will need to fill this out, pay your fee and hand it into the retailer.

It is important to know, that we do need prior registration and the cut off date for this is 3rd August 2011, the reason for this is quite simple, we want to make sure we have enough quilts cut out for you all, in the choice of fabric you prefer.

You will be able to see pictures of the different fabric choices at each shop and for your registration fee of $40.00 you will receive 2 Blocks in each shop, in effect this means you will be able to make a quilt top except the sashing, borders, backing and batting for that $40.00.

The only other criteria is that you have to spend a minimum of $10.00 in each shop & for this your passport is stamped, you will then hand the fully marked card into the final shop you visit, this enables your name to go into a draw for Janome Sewing Machine!!

Good isn’t it??

But as they say there is more, you will also receive a 10% discount  purchases through out the duration of the Shop Hop, eg: 12th – 28th August.

Of course the most important information for you all is the date!!

The Quilters Friend Shop Hop starts on 12th August to 28th August, this enables you all to get around the shops and be in to claim your blocks and have your passports stamped.

To make things a bit easier you can download the registration form from here and they are also available at all the participating shops.

We shall be adding more updates as time goes by but if you have any queries all the quilt shops will be able to help you.

So until next time, start contacting your quilting friends, groups and guilds and arrange car sharing and come and see us, it will be a fun time for you all!

I would love to do this shop hop. Is there anyone from Palmy who would like to share transport with me. I have a reasonable car and am a good driver.
